Las Piñas Mayor Aguilar files COC for vice mayor

After completing her three consecutive terms as the city’s chief executive, Las Piñas City Mayor Imelda Aguilar on Monday filed her certificate of candidacy for vice mayor while her daughter Vice Mayor April Aguilar-Nery will be seeking the city’s top seat in the 2025 elections.

The following members of Team Aguilar also filed their respective COCs for different positions:

  • Congressman - Mark Anthony Santos Congressman
  • District 1 councilors - Alelee Aguilar, Zardi Abellera, Brian Bayog, Robert Cristobal, Marlon Rosales, and Mac Mac Santos
  • District 2 councilors - Henry Medina, Luigi Casimiro, Tito Martinez, Lester Aranda, Macky Saito, and Euan Toralballa

The Aguilars were former members of Nacionalista Party led by the former Senate president Manny Villar, husband of Senator Cynthia Villar.

Mayor Aguilar is the wife of Senator Villar’s late brother, former mayor Vergel “Nene” Aguilar.

Also on Monday, Senator Cynthia Villar, who is on her last term in the Senate, filed her COC for representative of the lone district of Las Piñas.

A total of 18,280 elective posts will be up for grabs for Eleksyon 2025. The filing of COCs started on October 1 and is set to close on October 8, Tuesday.—Joviland Rita/AOL, GMA Integrated News
