Flood hits some Metro Manila roads


Some roads in the National Capital Region were submerged in floods due to rains

Some roads in the National Capital Region (NCR) were submerged in floods due to rains on Friday, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said.

In a flood alert, MMDA said the following areas were flooded up to 19 inches deep as of 1:50 p.m.:

Not passable to light vehicles

  • EDSA Gate 2 Camp Aguinaldo northbound - 19 inches (subsided as of 1:43 p.m.)

Passable to all types of vehicles 

  •  
  • EDSA Shaw Tunnel northbound - eight inches
  • EDSA Santolan southbound service road - eight inches
  • EDSA Kamuning intersection northbound - eight inches
  • EDSA Main Avenue  northbound - eight inches
  • EDSA Aurora Tunnel northbound and  southbound - eight inches
  • EDSA VV Soliven  southbound - four inches

In its 24-hour public weather forecast, state weather bureau PAGASA said NCR and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ).

Flash floods or landslides are possible during severe thunderstorms, PAGASA added.
