Abby Binay's husband to run vs Sen. Nancy for Makati mayor

Outgoing Makati City Mayor and senatorial aspirant Abigail "Abby" Binay on Friday confirmed that her husband, Makati City Rep. Luis Campos, will file his certificate of candidacy to succeed her as the city's local chief executive.

"Yes po, tomorrow," Mayor Abby said when asked if Campos will file his COC for Makati City mayor.

Should Campos file his COC, he will run against Mayor Abby's sister, outgoing Senator Nancy Binay who already formalized her mayoralty bid last Tuesday.

Asked about how they will go about this political situation, Abby said, "There's no discussion. So, we will let the people decide."

Mayor Abby also refuted the claims from Senator Nancy's camp that the latter's mayoral bid was the decision of their father, former Vice President Jejomar Binay.

"Kami ay nagdesisyon na, matagal na and 'yung sinasabi nila na 'yun daw ang gusto ng ama namin ay wala namn hong sinasabi 'yung aking ama sa akin. So I guess I have to hear it from the horse's mouth to believe kung ganon nga ang ganyang sinasabi," she said.

(We have already decided a long time ago. They were claiming that it was what our father wanted, but my father did not inform me anything about it. So I guess, I have to hear it from the horse's mouth to believe what they are saying.)
