Trillanes files candidacy for Caloocan mayor

Former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV on Thursday filed his certificate of candidacy (COC) for Caloocan City mayor for the 2025 elections.

Trillanes, who served as senator from 2007 to 2019, filed his COC at the Comelec's designated venue inside a shopping mall in Caloocan City.

"After seeing the current state of Caloocan, it was difficult to ignore the appeal for change of the residents. This ultimately led to my decision to run for mayor," he said in a statement.

"With my experience and track record, I believe I can bring about significant positive changes to the lives of the people of Caloocan,” he added.

Trillanes' running mate is former Caloocan city councilor PJ Malonzo. He will face incumbent Caloocan City Mayor Along Malapitan in next year's elections.
