6 dead in fire that hit residential area in Tondo, Manila
Six people died in a fire that hit a residential area in Tondo, Manila before dawn on Sunday, the Bureau of Fire Department (BFP) said.
One person meanwhile was seriously injured, BFP Senior Fire Officer 2 Roderick Andres said, according to a report by Mao dela Cruz on Super Radyo dzBB.
The fire started at 3:50 a.m. on the second floor of a four-storey house on Camba Street corner Ariaran Street in Barangay 25, according to Barangay 25 chairman Obet Tolentino.
The residents of the said house were asleep when fire broke out.
The six fatalities — four adults and two children — were not able to escape. One of the fatalities was a pregnant woman, according to a report on GMA Integrated News Bulletin.
However, one child was able to jump out of the burning house and was brought to the Philippine General Hospital, Tolentino said.
Initial information revealed that the fire may have been due to an electrical issue.
The fire was put out at 5:14 a.m.

No other houses were affected by the fire.
