Manila suspends gov't work starting 3 p.m. on Sept. 23 for Kainang Pamilya Mahalaga Day

The Manila city government announced the suspension of government work starting at 3 p.m. on Monday, September 23, for the celebration of the Kainang Pamilya Mahalaga Day.

Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan signed Executive Order No. 31 in this regard.

The suspension of work is in accordance with the Proclamation No. 60 series of 1992 issued by the Palace designating every last week of September as Family Week, the Manila city government said.

Last week, Malacañang announced that work in all offices in the Executive branch will be suspended from 3 p.m. on Monday, September 23 in celebration of Family Week.

This is in line with Proclamation No. 326, series of 2012, which declared the fourth Monday of September as “Kainang Pamilya Mahalaga” Day.

However, agencies whose functions involve the delivery of basic and health services, preparedness and response to disasters and calamities shall continue their operations, the Palace said.

“The suspension of work in other branches of government, in independent commissions or bodies, and in the private sector is encouraged, so as to afford all Filipino families the full opportunity to celebrate the 32nd National Family Week,” the memorandum circular also said. —KG, GMA Integrated News
