Alleged road rage leads to shooting in Pasay

Two vehicles got involved in a crash that led to a shooting incident in Pasay City early Saturday.

The incident occurred at the corner of Sen. Gil Puyat Avenue and Roxas Boulevard and involved a BMW and a Honda sedan, according to a report of Mao dela Cruz on Dobol B TV.

The front parts of both cars were damaged, and the airbag of the Honda sedan was inflated.

"Based on our initial investigation, so na-ano namin na during our assessment na ito ay kaso ng road rage," Police Colonel Samuel Pabonita, Pasay City Police chief, said in an interview on Dobol B TV.

Pabonita said one vehicle crashed into the other.

"Nagkaroon ng palitan ng putok," he said.

(There was an exchange of gunfire.)

"Tamang tama naman at noong pangyayari noon may nagroronda. Nagpapatrol ang ating kapulisan kaya nakapagresponde kaagad itong ating kapulisan," Pabonita said.

(At that time our police forces were in the area doing patrols so they were able to respond immediately.)

The Pasay Police chief said the motorists involved were foreign nationals, and they are still determining if they are Chinese.

Pabonita said three individuals were placed under police custody.
