In Marikina City, 13,000 residents evacuated from their homes as the Marikina River’s water level rose to 16 meters on Monday morning, according to a report by EJ Gomez on GMA Integrated News’ Unang Balita on Tuesday.

This triggered the local government to raise the second alarm, which means residents are advised to evacuate.

Some residents have already returned to their houses as the alarm over the Marikina River has been lifted.

Meanwhile in Parañaque City, the body of a 16-year-old girl was found floating on a creek after being missing for 18 hours, according to a report of Bea Pinlac.

According to local authorities, the girl was on her way to a drinking session with her boyfriend and his brother when she supposedly fell into the creek.

Enteng

Six areas are placed under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 2 as Enteng continues to move over the West Philippine Sea on Tuesday morning, state weather bureau PAGASA said.

Enteng was spotted over the coastal waters of Laoag City, Ilocos Norte, moving west northwestward at 20 kilometers per hour and packing maximum sustained winds of 75 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 115 kph.

“ENTENG is forecast to continue moving generally west northwestward over the next 24 hours and is expected to turn westward over the West Philippine Sea starting tomorrow (4 September) until it reach Hainan, China on Saturday (7 September),” PAGASA said.

Enteng may exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility by Wednesday morning, according to PAGASA.

“ENTENG is forecast to reach severe tropical storm by this afternoon (at the earliest) or evening, and typhoon category by Thursday (5 September),” PAGASA added. —VAL, GMA Integrated News
