Sandro Muhlach files cyber libel complaint vs. 3 anonymous 'X' accounts

Sandro Muhlach has filed a cyber libel complaint against three anonymous accounts on "X" (formerly Twitter) at the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI)—Cybercrime Division, according to a "24 Oras" report.

The NBI Cybercrime Division said Sandro mentioned in the complaint that there were allegedly over a hundred defamatory posts on the platform about the alleged sexual abuse he experienced.

Sandro's grandfather, Alexander Muhlach, appealed to the public to respect his grandson's privacy.

"The online harassment and bullying he has been subjected to are only worsening his condition. Sandro needs our compassion and support as he works towards recovery. We appreciate your understanding and respect for his journey towards healing," he said. 

Last week, Sandro took to social media to detail what he has been going through since the alleged rape incident involving him and two independent GMA contractors in July.

In an Instagram Stories post, Sandro said he has not been getting enough sleep since the incident happened.

"What you did to me, it wrecked me. Hirap na hirap ako makatulog since it happened. Anxiety and [PTSDs] are hard to beat," he said. 

“Ang laban ko ay para [rin] sa lahat ng inabuso. The truth will prevail,” he added.

Sandro and the NBI also filed a complaint against two independent contractors, Jojo Nones, and Richard Cruz, for alleged sexual assault.

Last week, Nones and Cruz attended the resumption of a Senate inquiry and denied they sexually assaulted Sandro.

GMA Network Senior Vice President for Programming, Talent Management, Worldwide, and Support Group Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes said GMA has suspended the two independent contracts while the probe is ongoing.—Sherylin Untalan/LDF, GMA Integrated News
