MMDA enforcer jumps on car hood to stop driver fleeing accident scene

A Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) traffic enforcer jumped on top of a speeding car's hood to stop a driver who was fleeing the scene of a traffic accident in Taguig City.   

In Nico Waje's 24 Oras report on Wednesday, dash cam footage showed a car along Lawton Avenue with a uniformed MMDA traffic enforcer holding on its hood as it sped by.

Another MMDA enforcer who was directing traffic tried to run after the vehicle.

In another video, the said car was said to have been involved in a vehicular accident but its driver refused to stop, prompting authorities to chase the vehicle.

Unfortunately, the driver was able to escape. 

Earlier today, the enforcer involved in the incident went to the MMDA office to explain what transpired. 

The MMDA said it was able to obtain the vehicle's plate number and is now looking for the driver.

Once his identity is determined, the motorist in question will face multiple criminal charges. The MMDA said it will also recommend to the Land Transportation Office (LTO) that it cancels the driver's license.
