Rider on EDSA busway falls while trying to flee

A motorcycle rider who illegally passed through the EDSA busway was caught after his vehicle fell down when he tried to flee from authorities.

According to a 24 Oras report by Saleema Refran on Tuesday, that aside from receiving a ticket, the rider also sustained scratches and abrasions for his failed attempt to escape.

“Tatabi naman po ako kaso nagmamadali po kasi late na po kasi ako sir, wala naman po bus nagmamadali ako, sir,” the rider claimed.

(I was going to park on the side but I was in a hurry because I'm running late, sir. There was no bus and I was in a hurry, sir.)

Another rider also tried to escape but was also caught by authorities.

“Nag-overtake lang ako saglit lang naman ako e,” was his excuse.

(I just overtook for a brief moment.)

An ambulance inside the busway was also stopped but immediately allowed to proceed when it was confirmed that a patient was onboard.

Meanwhile, even with the presence of signs prohibiting them, several vehicles were still illegally parked along the Chino Roces Avenue Extension in Makati City.

Traffic enforcers were deployed to patrol and evict vehicles that are parked on the busy thoroughfare.
