Man shot dead in Tondo while on his way to work

A department store employee was shot by a gunman on a motorcycle in Barangay 86, Tondo while on his way to work.

According to a Saksi report by Chino Gaston on Friday, CCTV stationed at Geona Street caught the incident that occurred around 7:30 a.m.

The footage showed the rider driving up to the victim and shooting him twice, while a passerby runs away from the shooting.

Officials from the barangay added that other footage showed the suspect seemingly searching the area since 7 a.m.

“Sabi po [ng saksi na] meron siya nadinig na salita, pero di niya daw po maintindihan at narinig po niya ang dalawang putok ng baril,” said Barangay 86 chairman.

(The witness said that he heard them say some words, but he couldn’t understand them and that he heard two shots from the gun)

The motorcycle used by the suspect had no plates.

The Manila Police District has refused to issue any statements while it is conducting a follow-up operation to identify, locate, and apprehend the suspect. —Jiselle Anne Casucian/LDF, GMA Integrated News
