Caloocan serial killer? Police say fake news

The Caloocan City Police Station on Friday said the report circulating on social media regarding a supposed serial killer in the city is “fake news.”

“Ang inyo pong Caloocan City Police Station ay kinokondena o pinasisinungalingan ang kumakalat na maling balita sa social media na may gumagalang serial killer sa lungsod ng Caloocan,” it said in a statement.

(Your Caloocan City Police Station is dismissing the fake news circulating on social media that there was a serial killer in the city.)

“Maging maingat, mapanuri sa mga impormasyon ating nababalitaan sa social media na walang naman basehan at ito ay nagdudulot lamang ng kalituhan o takot sa ating mga mamamayan,” it added.

(Be cautious and critical of the information we see on social media that has no basis and only causes confusion or fear among our citizens.)

The Caloocan police said it will work on tracking the source of the fake news and called on the public not to share the wrong information on social media.

“Ang inyong pong Caloocan City Police Station ay lalo pa pong paiigtingin ang Police visibility at Mobile visibility at iba pang Anti-Criminality Operations upang mapanatili ang Peace and Order sa lungsod ng Caloocan,” it added.
