3 illegal aliens reporting new passports nabbed at BI head office

Three illegal aliens were apprehended at the Bureau of Immigration (BI) office in Intramuros, Manila, after reporting their new passports.

The BI immigration regulation division (IRD) arrested the foreigners in three separate incidents earlier this month after they reported their new passports to the agency.

The Philippines’ immigration policies require foreign nationals to report new passports and travel documents to transfer their latest entries and visas from their old passports.

According to the BI, among the arrested individuals is 25-year-old Song Tiangcheng, who was wanted in his country for contractual fraud.

Song is facing a deportation case after Chinese authorities informed the Immigration Bureau of his pending case in China.

Dong Baolian, 39, is also a fugitive wanted in China for fraud. She is a member of a company that allegedly developed an application used to defraud over CNY 1.54 million from its victims.

Meanwhile, Taiwanese Tu En Cheng, 51, was found to be the subject of a summary deportation order by the BI board of commissioners in 2020.

He was tagged as a fugitive in Taiwan for fraud, which prompted the BI to file an undesirability complaint against him.

The arrested individuals are now under the custody of BI and would remain under the holding facility pending their deportation. —VBL, GMA Integrated News
