Ambulance driver shot in the head in Taguig

An ambulance driver was shot in the head in Barangay San Miguel, Taguig City, Marisol Abdurahman reported Tuesday on 24 Oras.

CCTV recorded the victim walking on the side of the road when the gunman appeared and shot him.

The suspect continued to shoot the victim even when he was down on ground.

The suspect left the crime scene and rode away on a motorcycle driven by his companion.

Taguig police chief Colonel Christopher Olazo said the suspect made sure that victim Bayani Quizon was dead.

“Kaya nga nung nangyari ang insidente, on the spot po patay yung ating  biktima. Sinigurado ng suspect na patay s’ya pag iiwanan,” Olazo said.

(When the incident happened, the victim was dead on the spot. The suspect made sure the victim was dead when he left him.)

Quizon was shot four times.

“Ang pagkakautang ay iligal na droga at isang taon na po itong naniningil at may pagbabanta na rin sa buhay n’ya,” Olazo said.

(Quizon was in debt because of illegal drugs and the suspect had been asking the victim to pay his debt for about a year. Before his death, the victim was receiving death threats.)

By backtracking the CCTV video and with the help of witnesses, the suspects were located.

But when authorities caught up with the suspects in West Bicutan, there was an exchange of gunshots and both suspects were killed.

Authorities recovered .38 caliber and .45 caliber guns, which investigators will cross-match these were used in the Quizon killing.

According to the Taguig Police, the suspects had also been charged with other crimes

Meanwhile, Quizon's family said they did not know if Quizon had enemies as he did not mention anything about it.

"Nabigla kami, siyempre masakit sa part namin, kasi wala kaming alam,” Quizon’s sibling said.

(We were caught off guard. Of course, it is painful for us since we do not know any of this.)
