Mother and aunt nabbed for sexual trafficking of 6 minors
A mother and her sister were arrested by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) for the alleged sexual trafficking of six children, including a 2-month-old toddler.
According to a 24 Oras report by Emil Sumangil, the NBI Violence Against Women and Children Division conducted an entrapment operation during one of the suspects’ scheduled livestream videos at around 6 p.m. in Caloocan City on Friday.
The suspect allegedly sold lewd photos of the children and allegedly taught them to perform pornographic acts on camera.
Authorities implemented a warrant to Search, Seize and Examine computer data against the suspects and rescued the six victims.
While the victims’ mother readily admitted to the crime, her sister denied the allegations.
“Hindi ko po alam na may kausap po sila na ganun… Nag-hello lang naman po ako [sa video call], yun lang naman po ginawa ko. Wala naman po akong sinabing iba,” said the sister.
(I didn’t know that they were talking to someone like that… I only said hello [to the video call], that’s all I did. I didn’t say anything else.)
The suspects face charges of online sexual abuse and exploitation of children. —Jiselle Anne Casucian/RF, GMA Integrated News
