Fire hits devotional candle area of Pasig Cathedral

A portion of the Immaculate Conception Cathedral located in Malinao, Pasig City was hit by fire, the Diocese of Pasig announced early Thursday morning.

Based on the photos posted on the Facebook page of the diocese, the area where people light votive candles is blackened by fire.

The Diocese of Pasig posted at 2 a.m. on Thursday: "All is well!"

"The fire started at the devotional candle outside the Adoration Room, and remained therein until it was put off. There is no damage to the physical buildings," according to the Roman Catholic Bishop of Pasig, Inc. - Properties Administration Office post on social media.

"The quick response of the security guard and fire department from Pasig LGU secured the place and prevented the possible spread of fire."
