NBI seizes P145-M worth of counterfeit luxury products

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on Wednesday announced that its Rizal District Office (RIZDO) seized P145 million worth of counterfeit luxury products from different commercial stores in Binondo, Manila.

In a statement, the NBI said the RIZDO implemented 30 search warrants on various stores in Binondo for violation of the Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines on July 26.

This led to the seizure of fake Balenciaga, Bottega Veneta, Gucci, YSL and Saint Laurent Paris products.

According to NBI Director Jaime Santiago, the NBI-RIZDO conducted the operation after it received a letter complaint against several establishments on June 26.

It then conducted surveillance and test-buy operations, which confirmed the information.—RF, GMA Integrated News
