Fire hits row of stores in Novaliches
Fire hit a commercial area in Barangay Sta. Monica in Novaliches, Quezon City on Friday morning, according to James Agustin's report on Unang Balita.
The fire, which started shortly before 5 a.m., was declared under control at 6:27 a.m. by the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).
The fire reached the third alarm, necessitating the deployment of 22 firetrucks.
The area was among those affected by the severe flooding in Metro Manila caused by the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat that was enhanced by Typhoon Carina earlier this week.
The report said many of the commercial establishments selling eggs and meat were totally damaged by the fire.
No details yet on the total cost of damage and the possible source of the conflagration were available as of the time of the report. —KBK, GMA Integrated News
