Camp Aguinaldo open to motorists amid flooded roads — AFP
Camp Aguinaldo has been opened to motorists as some roads in Quezon City were submerged in floods due to the continuous rains on Wednesday, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) said.
In an advisory, the Armed Forces Philippines Headquarters Service Command said that the camp has been opened for all vehicles to pass through starting 6 a.m.
Gates 1, 4, and 5 may be used, while Gates 2, 3 and 6 were closed due to the flooding.
Many Metro Manila roads were flooded Wednesday morning as the effects of the southwest monsoon or Habagat and Typhoon Carina hit some parts of the country.
A red heavy rainfall warning was raised over six areas in Luzon on Wednesday, according to state weather bureau PAGASA.
In its Heavy Rainfall Warning issued at 11 a.m., PAGASA said a red warning level was hoisted in Metro Manila, Rizal, Bataan, Bulacan, Pampanga and Zambales.
Serious flooding is expected in flood-prone areas, PAGASA said. — VDV, GMA Integrated News
