Buses allowed on EDSA amid NCR floods —MMDA
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Wednesday allowed buses, regardless of route, to use EDSA amid the severe flooding in many areas in Metro Manila caused by the enhanced Southwest Monsoon.
"All buses are allowed to traverse EDSA (regardless of route) today for faster mobility due to some flooded areas in NCR," it said in an advisory, referring to the National Capital Region.
Meanwhile, the MMDA said its vehicles are on standby to offer free rides to stranded commuters.
The MMDA earlier announced that the expanded number coding scheme in Metro Manila is suspended on Wednesday due to the inclement weather.
The directive to suspend the Expanded Unified Vehicular Volume Reduction Program (UVVRP) was made following the announcement of Malacañang suspending government work and classes in all levels in Metro Manila due to the continuous rains brought about by Typhoon Carina and the southwest monsoon. —KBK, GMA Integrated News
