PGH's OPD, cancer institute closed due to bad weather

The outpatient department (OPD) and cancer institute clinics of the University of the Philippines-Philippine General Hospital (UP-PGH) were closed on Wednesday, July 24, due to the inclement weather.

PGH spokesperson Dr. Jonas del Rosario said the temporary halt to some of PGH’s services was because of the continuous rainfall and the flooding around its OPD and cancer center.

Typhoon Carina has been enhancing the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat, bringing heavy rains to several areas, including Metro Manila.

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) earlier reported flooding along Taft Avenue, where the PGH is located. — Giselle Ombay/RSJ, GMA Integrated News
