Body of 13-year-old boy found under Tondo bridge

Police found the body of a 13-year-old boy under the Infanta Bridge in Tondo, Manila on Monday evening, the Manila Police District (MPD) said on Tuesday.

Based on the police report, the victim died due to drowning.

The 13-year-old boy was swimming in Infanta river when a heavy current swept and pulled the victim underwater, according to police.

His mother reported the incident to the concerned police station.

Philippine Coast Guard personnel conducted a search and rescue operation that led to the retrieval of the victim. 

He was brought to Tondo Medical Center but was declared dead on arrival at 6:51 p.m. —Joviland Rita/ VAL, GMA Integrated News
