DOJ guard hurt by spray painting rallyists

A security guard of the Department of Justice (DOJ) on Thursday sustained a head injury after he was allegedly hit with a spray paint can by a rallyist, according to Luisito Santos’ report on Super Radyo dzBB.

Based on initial information, the guard was hit on the head after he attempted to scold the rallyist who was about to spray paint graffiti on the wall of the DOJ building.

“Bali, nagka commotion sir, dinumog nila ko. Tatlo ‘yung nakita ko, dalawa ‘yung sumuntok, isa ‘yung pumalo sa akin,” the guard said.

“Nag va-vandal sir sa pader ng DOJ. Sinisita ko lang sila nag ano na sila eh, biglang nag hysterical sila eh. Bigla nila akong inano na, kinuyog na ko,” he added.

(There was a commotion, they ganged up on me. I saw three of them, two punched me, another hit me on the head.

They were vandalizing the DOJ wall. I was telling them to stop when they became hysterical. They suddenly ganged up on me.)

The guard sustained a head injury on the back of his head, causing blood to drip down on his uniform.

Following this, the protesters attempted to leave the area but were prevented by DOJ personnel.

The authorities also called for backup from the Manila Police District.

Meanwhile, negotiations continued between the MPD and the individual behind the incident as his group was refusing to hand him over.
