2 minors nabbed for robbery, stabbing of female student in UP Diliman

A female student was rushed to the hospital after she was repeatedly stabbed and robbed by three minors while jogging in UP Diliman, Quezon City.

According to a Balitanghali report on Wednesday, police reports state that the suspects observed the victim before they attacked.

The victim said that the three suspects approached her, pulled out a knife and declared that it was a hold-up.

She was immediately stabbed when she screamed, and the suspects were able to escape with her phone and wallet.

The victim sustained 11 stab wounds to different parts of the body, but was quickly rushed to the hospital by a concerned citizen and is currently recovering.

UP Diliman had reported a stabbing incident on campus but did not provide more details in its initial social media post on the matter.

Meanwhile, two suspects aged 14 and 15 were immediately located in their homes at around 6:20 p.m. on Tuesday using CCTV footage.

Authorities were able to recover the victim’s phone and wallet from the suspects, who were also positively identified by the victim from a set of photos.

They will be facing the necessary charges, but will be turned over to the DSWD.

“Ang matagumpay na pagkaaresto sa mga suspek ay bunga ng mabilis at maagap na aksyon ng ating mga kapulisan. Ito ay patunay ng ating dedikasyon sa pagpapanatili ng kaayusan at kaligtasan sa ating komunidad,” said Quezon City Police chief Police Brigadier General Redrico Maranan.
