Scavenger beaten up by 6 men in Tondo, Manila
A scavenger suffered injuries after he was beaten up out of nowhere by six drunk men in Tondo,Manila, the police said.
According to Jhomer Apresto’s report in “State of the Nation” on Friday, the victim was also hit with a piece of wood that had a nail in it and a bottle.
The police were able to arrest two of the suspects.
One of the suspects claimed that they heard someone referring to the victim as a thief.
“May sumigaw kasi ng magnanakaw. Ngayon biglang marami nang gumulpi,” the suspect said.
(Someone said there was a thief. So many came to beat him up.)
He apologized for what they have done to the scavenger.
Meanwhile, the victim said that he was just sawing off the protruding parts of metal that he saw in the canal.
