Heavy traffic expected around QC Memorial Circle for Pride PH Festival on June 22


Motorists should expect heavy traffic around the Quezon Memorial Circle and nearby roads on Saturday, June 22 as people are expected to flock to the Pride PH Festival March and Float Parade.

In an advisory, the Quezon City government said the event would be held from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. The march will start from Tomas Morato Avenue to Timog Avenue, then proceed to Elliptical Road and all the way to the QMC-Commonwealth Avenue entrance gate.

A satellite venue will be set up at Matalino Street, while the simultaneous march would start from Malakas Street corner Matatag Street going to East Avenue up to Elliptical Road, and all the way to QMC-Commonwealth Avenue entrance gate.

With this, motorists are advised to take alternative routes on Saturday:

Vehicles coming from Mother Ignacia Street, Sgt. Esguerra, EDSA going to Timog Avenue

 

Vehicles coming from East Avenue towards Timog Avenue going to Quezon Avenue

 

Vehicles coming from Examiner and Scout Albano Street going to Timog Avenue

 

Vehicles coming from Examiner and Scout Albano Street going to Don Alejandro Roces Avenue

 

Meanwhile, parking areas during the event are located at the following areas: QC Hall Compound, North Avenue, Mayaman Street, Quezon Avenue, and Miriam Defensor-Santiago Service Road.

The Quezon City LGU also announced earlier that it would also extend the operations of its free bus service until 2 a.m. of Sunday, June 23 to cater to the festival goers.

The Pride PH Festival will be headlined by Vice Ganda, Marina Summers, BINI, and Juan Karlos. — VDV, GMA Integrated News
