MMDA warns public vs. text message regarding alleged fine

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) issued a warning to motorists regarding a text message advising them to pay a fine using a link.

It is a scam, the MMDA said, according to a report on Unang Balita on Tuesday.

The MMDA advised the public to be vigilant and not to click on any link.

It also advised motorists not to give personal and sensitive information.

Motorists may get in touch directly with the MMDA to verify anything by contacting its hotline 136.

They may also send messages via email to digitalmedia@mmda.gov.ph, or via the agency's social media accounts on Facebook (@MMDAPH) and X (@MMDA), or check out its official website on mmda.gov.ph. —KG, GMA Integrated News
