5 Chinese, 1 Pinoy nabbed due to alleged shooting in Parañaque
Authorities arrested over the weekend five Chinese nationals and one Filipino suspected to be involved in a shooting incident in Parañaque City wherein two Chinese nationals were victims.
The victims were allegedly shot due to an unpaid loan.
CCTV footage on June 15 showed that four men entered a condominium unit on Roxas Boulevard in Parañaque City, according to an exclusive report by Darlene Cay on Unang Balita on Monday.
Six men afterward came out of the said unit.
Authorities said two male Chinese siblings were shot in the unit after the men left.
"After the receipt of 'yung report po, nu'ng na-receive namin, immediately tumakbo po kami kaagad sa lugar. Nag-coordinate kami doon sa security guard doon sa baba hanggang ginuide kami papunta doon sa room kung saan 'yung sinasabi na nagkaroon ng shooting incident," Tambo Police Station Commander Police Lieutenant Colonel Ramon Czar Solas said.
(After we received the report, we immediately went to the area. We coordinated with the security guard on the ground floor and we were guided to the room where they said the shooting incident occurred.)
Police found the two victims on the floor, bloodied due to gunshot wounds on the lower part of their bodies.
The victims were immediately brought to the hospital, and they are now in stable condition.
Police said 10 suspects were involved in the shooting — two Filipinos and eight Chinese nationals.
"Mayroon kaming na-receive na report na dalawa sa mga suspects du'n sa shooting incident is doon nakatira sa kabilang tower lang," Solas said.
(We received a report that two of the suspects live in the next tower.)
One Filipino allegedly serving as bodyguard of the group was arrested in his house in Parañaque City. Authorities said he was previously arrested for carnapping and robbery.
Two Chinese nationals meanwhile were nabbed in a hotel room in Pasay City.
In Clark, Pampanga, one more Chinese national was arrested.
Authorities said one of the Chinese nationals arrested had an earlier case of coercion.
Seized from the suspects were two firearms, two vehicles, and three motorcycles.
The victims allegedly borrowed money from the Chinese group lending cash to casino players.
"Based on our initial inquiry and investigation, walang lumabas na POGO-related o IGL-related na involved personalities. They were employees or sa casino sila nagtrabaho. And they have their own junket," Parañaque City chief of police Police Lieutenant Colonel Melvin Monante said.
(Based on our initial inquiry and investigation, no Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator-related or Internet Gaming License-related personalities were involved. They were employees or worked in the casino.)
Authorities are still on the manhunt for four Chinese national suspects, including the alleged big boss.
The Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) is also investigating the incident to see if it is linked to an illegal POGO. —KG, GMA Integrated News
