BPO employee on way to work robbed by motorcycle taxi rider

A BPO employee who booked a motorcycle taxi through a ride-hailing app has filed a complaint before the police after she was allegedly robbed and harassed by the rider.

According to a 24 Oras report by Bam Alegre on Thursday, the victim was one to her workplace on Wednesday night in Cubao, Quezon City.

Her suspicions began when the motorcycle rider drove past her drop-off point.

(‘Ma’am, can you come with me?’, he said. I said ‘Where?’ Then he said, ‘Just there.’ I said ‘No, I still have work.’ He should have turned left, but he drove straight and that’s when I started to panic)

She was eventually dropped off at a dark area in Pasay City, which was far from her intended destination.

The rider was able to take her handbag, which had her money, ID and debit card.

(He said ‘Okay, ma’am. I’ll let you down, but you have to give me your things.’… Before I left, he made sure that he was holding my bag so that when my foot hit the [pavement], he can leave)

She filed the complaint against the rider at the Pasay Police Substation 4.

(We can charge him with robbery, because this scheme that he does could be… It could really be the modus that he’s doing to the victims)

In a statement, Move It said that they have placed a preventive suspension on the rider who allegedly robbed the victim.

It said in a statement.
