A fire broke out at a building inside the Colegio de San Juan de Letran campus along Legaspi Street in Intramuros, Manila City on Wednesday afternoon.

According to a Super Radyo dzBB report by Luisito Santos, initial investigation showed that the fire began at the mezzanine level of the college library at around 2 p.m.

Firemen and fire volunteers responded quickly, however, with no alarms raised to request additional manpower and emergency response teams on the scene.

According to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) for National Capital Region (NCR), fire out was declared at 2:05 p.m. Three fire trucks and an ambulance arrived in the area.

No casualties were reported in the incident.

Meanwhile, classes were temporarily suspended as students, faculty, and staff were briefly evacuated from the building for their safety.

"We are relieved to inform you that the Letran campus has been declared safe following an incident at the St. Thomas building," the post read.
