Part of Pasig River impassable due to trash

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Tuesday said that a part of the Pasig River has become impassable due to trash.

"Hindi passable ang Ilog Pasig sa mga bangka mula PUP (Polytechnic University of the Philippines) hanggang Escolta dahil sa mga nakaharang na basura," MMDA said on its Facebook page.

(The Pasig River is not passable to boats from PUP to Escolta because of garbage.)

The agency said it is now conducting clean-up operations.

(The river is continuously being cleaned through trash skimmers to collect the trash faster.)

Meanwhile, the MMDA  called on the public to be more responsible with their trash disposal.
