Parts of Manila, Quezon City to experience power interruptions on May 15, 16

Parts of Manila and Quezon City are set to experience power service interruptions on May 15 and 16 due to scheduled maintenance activities.

In an advisory posted on its website, Manila Electric Company (Meralco) said it will be relocating facilities along Taft Avenue and Finance Road.

The affected areas between 11:30 p.m. and 11:59 p.m., Wednesday, April 15, and then 6:00 a.m. and 6:30 a.m., Thursday, May 16, are:

• Portion of Zobel Street from Meralco – Tegen substation to San Marcelino Street including Mercedes and Sylvia Streets
• Portion of San Marcelino Street from Ayala Boulevard to United Nations Avenue including Adamson University and Alpha Insurance & Surety Co.
• Portion of United Nations Avenue from San Marcelino Street to Taft Avenue including Manila Police District Headquarters, Araullo High School.
• Portion of Taft Ave. from United Nations Avenue to Ayala Boulevard including Santa Isabel College, Torre De Manila Condominium, Casino Español de Manila, and Masagana Telamart.

Affected areas between 11:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 15, and 6:30 a.m., Thursday, May 16 are:

• Portion of Ayala Boulevard from Taft Avenue to Sylvia Street including Technological University of the Philippines and Philippine Normal University.
• Portion of Finance Road from Taft Avenue to P. Burgos Avenue including National Museum of Anthropology, National Museum of Fine Arts, and Luneta Park.

Meralco said it will also be upgrading facilities in Zabarte Subdivision, Bgy. Kaligayahan, Greater Fairview, Quezon City.

Affected areas between 10:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 15, and 3:00 a.m., Thursday, May 16, are:  

• Portion of Nightingale, Woodpecker and Mockingbird Streets from near Skylark Street to and including Oriole Streets in Zabarte Subd., Bgy. Kaligayahan.

There will also be a replacement of facilities in Filinvest Homes Subdivision, Phase 1, Meralco said.

The affected areas between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., Thursday, May 16, are:

• The whole of Filinvest Homes Subd. Phase 1 including Presentation of Our Lord Parish in Bgy. Batasan Hills.
