Trike driver nabbed for raping 12-year old godchild

A tricycle driver was arrested for allegedly raping his 12-year-old godchild several times.

According to Emil Sumangil’s 24 Oras report Monday, the suspect repeatedly assaulted the minor while her parents were out working.  The victim kept it hidden from her parents out of fear but told the incident to her friends.

“Twice noong September, nagkaroon siya ng isang chance noong October. Dalawang chance noong December. Matibay ang ebidensya kasi una, minor ito..Base sa story ng bata, nag ko-corroborate sa tunay na nangyari,” said Major Raul Salle, Chief of EPD-DSOU.

(It happened twice in September, once in October, then twice in December. We have strong evidence against the suspect. The victim is a minor and her story corroborated with what happened.)

The suspect declined to comment.

The irate mother of the victim said the suspect would promise food to her daughter to lure her into his room where he would rape her.

“Ang kaso niya is RA 7610, child abuse. Five counts  at may piyansa na P200,000 each so P1 million ang piyansa,” said Salle.

(He is facing charges for violating RA 761 and child abuse. His bail is worth P1 million.)

Meanwhile in Pangasinan, a suspect facing acts of lasciviousness and rape charges was collared several months after he went into hiding.

Authorities said the incident occurred in Marikina City last year but the suspect hid in Central Luzon before moving to Region I.—RF, GMA Integrated News
