Nurse shot dead by motorcycle rider he was trying to help in Caloocan
A nurse was shot dead after he tried to help the motorcycle-riding suspect who figured in an accident in Caloocan City, according to James Agustin's report on Unang Balita on Friday.
Aside from the nurse identified as Mark John Blanco, a resident was also shot dead by the same suspect.
"Tumulong lang daw, sabi ng witness sa akin. Ini-imagine ko yung mga pangyayari, talagang napakasakit," said Blanco's widow.
(A witness told me my husband was just trying to help. It hurts me to imagine what happened.)
Blanco, who left behind five children, sustained gunshot wounds in his head and arms.
"Naawa siya dahil nakita niya at tinulungan niya itong suspek na itayo 'yung motor," said Police Major Segundino Bulan Jr., commander of Caloocan Police Sub-Station 9.
(He took pity at the motorcycle rider and tried to help him pick up the motorcycle.)
Bulan said the suspect got mad when the motorcycle would not start and shot Blanco. A resident who appeared at the scene was also shot dead.
The suspect, a 54-year-old security officer who just came from a drinking spree, was later arrested by the police. A multiple murder complaint has already been filed against him.
Bulan said bullets from the gun found in the suspect's possession matched those recovered from the crime scene.
Interviewed behind bars, the suspect asked for forgiveness although he did not give a direct answer when asked if he shot the victims. —KBK, GMA Integrated News
