Motorcycle taxi rider nabbed for allegedly selling shabu to passengers
A motorcycle taxi rider was arrested for allegedly selling illegal drugs in Batasan, Quezon City.
According to Nico Waje’s report on 24 Oras Weekend, suspect Christopher Rivera was nabbed in a buy-bust operation on Thursday.
The Quezon City Police District said Rivera works as a middleman wherein he would take his customers to the drug supplier.
(The two of them will meet first and then the money will be brought to the area where they would meet in Caloocan. During the meet-up, payment would be made but the delivery would be on the following day, but the suspect will deliver it to the client.)
Authorities confiscated 25 grams of suspected shabu worth P175,000 from the suspect.
Police said most of Rivera's customers were several drug pushers from Barangay Commonwealth and Batasan.
QCPD-SDEU said a former colleague of Rivera said the suspect was trying to recruit him to return to the narcotics trade.
“Yung confidential informant namin e dati niya ring tauhan.
(Our confidential informant used to be one of his accomplices. He used to peddle drugs in Batasan, but he has changed. Now he is being offered by the suspect to sell drugs again but he is now on our side.)
Rivera however denied the allegations facing him.
(When I arrived they just arrested me. I'm just a motorcycle rider, I was about to fetch a customer who I always take to Caloocan, and I didn't know there was something going on.)
