Indian national robbed, stabbed in Pasig City
An Indian national was robbed and stabbed at a gas station in Pasig City, according to a 24 Oras report by Emil Sumangil on Friday.
CCTV footage showed that the victim was refueling his motorcycle when a man in a black jacket approached and began stabbing him.
The victim was able to gain distance from the suspect and cross the road despite his wounds, after which the suspect left with the weapon in hand.
Seeing the suspect leave, the victim was able to return to the gas station before collapsing on the road.
The barangay captain was a witness to the crime and helped in catching the suspect.
“[Narinig ko] ‘May sinaksak po! May sinaksak po! Andun yung sumaksak, yung naka itim na jacket!’ Tiningnan ko muna yung sinaksak,” said Palatiw, Pasig Barangay Captain Honorable Eriberto Guevarra.
(I heard, 'Someone was stabbed! Someone was stabbed! The attacker is right there, the one in the black jacket!' I checked the victim first.)
“Tiningnan ko muna kamay [ng suspek], baka mamaya may kutsilyo nga eh. Sabi ko sa driver ko, cut-in mo. Pagcut sabay dadambahin ko… so pag-cut namin don, baba ako ng patrol [car]. Pagkapit ko sa kamay sabay balabag. Ganyan kahaba yung kutsilyong dala!” added Guevarra.
(I checked the hands [of the suspect] since he might still be carrying the knife. I told my driver, "Cut him off and when we do, I'll jump on him... So, when we cut him off, I jumped down from the patrol [car]. I held onto his hand and threw him down. The knife he was carrying was this long!)
Meanwhile, the victim received first aid at the crime scene and was swiftly rushed to hospital, where he is currently recovering.
A follow-up operation will be conducted to catch the suspect’s accomplices. — Jiselle Casucian/DVM, GMA Integrated News
