Manila LGU to give P3,000 funeral aid to families of deceased residents
Bereaved families of Manila residents who have recently died are set to receive a funeral assistance worth P3,000 from the Manila City government.
Manila Public Information Office (PIO) said that the local government unit’s funeral aid program called “Unang Abuloy ng Maynila” took effect on Monday, January 22, as Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan signed Ordinance No. 9019.
The ordinance, authored by District 6 Councilor Salvador Philip Lacuna, provides death benefit assistance to the bereaved family of a bona fide resident or a duly registered voter of the City of Manila.
As for deceased minors, the Manila PIO said their parents should either be a resident or a registered voter of Manila to claim the funeral aid.
Lacuna-Pangan tasked barangays through the Manila Barangay Bureau and Liga ng mga Barangay to identify Manila residents or registered voters who recently died through the following hotlines:
