2 hurt as fire hits several houses in Tondo's Happyland

Two persons were injured when fire hit several houses in Happyland in Tondo, Manila early Tuesday morning, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said.

The BFP identified the casualties as Jessie Diestro, 16 years old, and Christian Gracio, 21. 

It added that the fire affected more or less 100 houses.

A report by James Agustin on Unang Balita said the fire spread quickly to the houses that were adjacent to each other as most of them were made from light material.

Traffic congestion was also reported along the southbound lane of Road 10as several fire trucks rushed to respond to the alarm in the area.

The fire, which started at about 3:09 a.m., reached the fourth alarm at 4:16 a.m. It was declared under control at 6:23 a.m.
