SK kagawad files complaint vs. ex-SK chairman over sexual advances

A 20-year-old kagawad of a sangguniang kabataan in San Juan has filed a complaint against a former SK chairman over alleged unwelcome sexual advances and threats.

According to Marisol Abdurahman's report on "24 Oras," the victim said she received threats after she filed a complaint for acts of lasciviouness against former SK chairperson Johver Sagara.

The victim said the incident happened during the last day of their mandatory training on November 30 in Talisay, Batangas.

As they prepared to return to Metro Manila, it was said that they went inside a room to look for missing car keys. According to the victim, Sagara locked the room and allegedly made sexual advances.

The victim said she fought back and managed to escape.

She reported the incident to her colleagues and Sagara was later arrested.

However, the victim said she began to receive threats.

"Hindi dapat ito nangyayari lalo na sa isang training. Dapat SK natin ay magagandang halimbawa sa mga kabataan," said San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora.

(This should not happen during training. Our SK should be good examples to the youth.)

The San Juan police assured the victim they will provide her assistance in addressing the threats her family reported. —Sherilyn Untalan/RF, GMA Integrated News
