LTO suspends license of SUV driver involved in Taguig road rage incident
The Land Transportation Office (LTO) on Thursday issued a 90-day preventive suspension on the driver’s license of the man behind the wheel of a sports utility vehicle (SUV) involved in a viral road altercation in Taguig City.
A social media video showed the SUV driver stopping in the middle of C-5 Road in Taguig to confront a truck driver. The irate man was seen shouting at the driver of the truck while demanding the latter’s license, according to a report by Glen Juego on dzBB’s Super Radyo.
LTO Chief Vigor Mendoza II said they are investigating the incident and have also suspended the registration of the white Ford Explorer pending the results of the probe.
The agency also issued a show cause order (SCO) against the SUV driver, asking him to issue an explanation as to why he should not be penalized for violating traffic regulations.
After watching the video, Mendoza said he noticed several traffic violations committed by the SUV driver during the road rage incident.
The SUV driver was ordered to appear before the LTO- National Capital Region (NCR) office on Monday, December 4.—RF, GMA Integrated News
