Cop admits relationship with missing beauty queen Catherine Camilon —CIDG

The police officer tagged as one of the primary suspects in the disappearance of Catherine Camilon admitted having an "illicit relationship" with the beauty queen.

According to Jun Veneracion's report on "24 Oras," Police Major Allan de Castro faced Philippine National Police (PNP) General Benjamin Acorda Jr. and Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Director Romeo Caramat in Camp Crame on Wednesday.

"Siya po ay iniharap natin kay chief PNP kaninang umaga, and he admitted na meron silang illicit relationship with Miss Camilon," Caramat said.

(We presented him to chief PNP this morning, and he admitted that he has an illicit relationship with Miss Camilon.)

This is the first time that de Castro admitted his relationship with the missing beauty pageant contestant.

But during the 30-minute conversation inside the white house in Camp Crame, de Castro kept silent about Camilon's disappearance, Caramat said.

"Noong siya ay tanungin natin kung meron ba siyang involvement sa pagkawala ni Miss Camilon sinabi lang nya kay chief PNP, he invoked his right to remain silent," Camarat said.

(When we asked him if he had any involvement in Miss Camilon's disappearance, he only told chief PNP that he invoked his right to remain silent.)

Acorda and Caramat did not force him to speak, the report said.

"Nag-sorry siya kay chief PNP for dragging the PNP organization na nadadamay na organization which the chief PNP naman accepted his apology," he added.

(He apologized to the chief PNP for dragging the PNP organization, the chief PNP accepted his apology.)

A complaint of kidnapping and serious illegal detention has been filed against De Castro and three others in connection with Camilon's case.

"May marching order ngayon ang ating Cheif PNP to exert all our efforts to locate Miss Camilon whether alive or dead," Caramat added.

(Our chief PNP now has a marching order to exert all our efforts to locate Miss Camilon whether alive or dead.)

Based on CIDG Region IV-A's conversation with Camilon's family, it was discovered that the victim had previously reported De Castro's assault against her.

There was also a time when she talked to De Castro's wife about the affair.
