1,000 BFP personnel to be deployed in NCR for Undas
The Bureau of Fire Protection-National Capital Region (NCR) is on full alert in case fire incidents and other emergencies happen during the observance of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day.
At the Saturday News Forum in Quezon City, BFP-NCR Assistant Regional Director SSupt. Rorigo Reyes said the agency is on “Oplan Ligtas na Pamayanan” until November 2.
Reyes said the BFP-NCR is deploying at least 1,000 personnel in over 60 cemeteries in Metro Manila.
The BFP-NCR also has standby ambulances, including modified two-wheeled vehicles which can function as ambulances in narrow alleys or streets.
Reyes said there are at least four “motorycle ambulances” in Malabon and one each in every city in the NCR.
Each motorcycle ambulance is equipped with a siren, blinker, first aid kit, and fire extinguisher, he said.
Reyes, meanwhile, reminded the public to observe fire safety during the Undas holidays.
“Pinapaalalahanan sila na in case na aalis sa bahay ang breaker patayin nila, LPG tank make sure walang singaw… and ‘wag ilagay sa altar ang kandila, ilagay sa labas ng bahay at naka lagay sa secured na lalagyan,” he said.
(We are reminding them to turn off the breaker and make sure their LPG has no leak. Don't leave lit candles in altars, place them in a secured place outdoors.) —VAL, GMA Integrated News
