Teenage girl killed with hammer during Caloocan robbery

A 17-year-old girl was bludgeoned to death during an alleged robbery in the family home in Caloocan City, according to a "24 Oras" report by Marisol Abdurahman.

Police reports state that the body was discovered by one of the neighbors, who heard the victim, Daisy Mae Notario, scream for her father moments before her death.

"Narinig ko lang sigaw ‘Pa!’ tapos bumaba ako. Lumabas kami, wala naman, tahimik naman.  Bumalik ako, di ako mapakali kasi may narinig talaga akong boses. Nakita ko yung bata, duguan dito sa taas," witness Angge said.

(I heard her scream ‘Pa!’ and I went down my house. I went outside and saw that there was nothing, it was quiet. I went back inside their house, I wasn’t comfortable because I know I heard a voice. I saw the child, bleeding here upstairs,)

"Natutulog po kami. Bigla pong sumigaw tong si Ate Angge ‘tulong, tulong’ kasi daw po kasi may duguan po sa loob," another neighbor added.

(We were sleeping. Ate Angge suddenly screamed for help because she said there was someone bleeding inside.)

The victim’s neighbors called a rescue team, who immediately rushed Daisy Mae, who was still conscious, to the hospital where she was declared dead on arrival.

"Nung dumating ho kami gumagalaw pa iniinda niya yung sakit ng ulo. Nung makita naming, basag ho yung [bungo] eh," said Barangay Rescue Responder Roberto Masungsong.

(When we arrived, she was still moving and complaining about the pain in her head. When we saw, [her skull] was broken.)

Evidence of a break-in was found at the crime scene, and there were items that were reported missing.

"Nawawala yung panggawa ko ng gulong, cellphone niya, pera niya," the victim’s father, Efren Notario, said.

(My tools for fixing tires, her phone, her money are missing.)

The Caloocan police have a person of interest for the crime, but decline to provide details while an investigation is ongoing.

"Isa po yun sa tinitingnan naming anggulo, na merong robbery na nangyari, at sympre yung personal pa rin po. Ano kaugnayan ng person of interest dito sa biktima? Isa yan na tinitingnan natin na maari itong biktima ay nagkaroon ng pwedeng nakikita o nakilala nya. Pwede 'tong biktima ay nanlaban," Caloocan Police Chief Police Colonel Ruben Lacuesta said.

(It’s one of the angles we’re checking, that there was a robbery that happened and of course, personal as well. Does the person of interest have any involvement with the victim? It’s one of the things that we’re checking, that the victim may have possibly been seen with something or met someone. It’s possible the victim also fought back.) - Jiselle Casucian/BAP, GMA Integrated News
