Truck driver killed as ten-wheeler drags him in Tondo 'road rage'

A driver was killed after a ten-wheeler turned into his truck just as he was going down, CCTV video showed.

According to John Consulta's report on "24 Oras," the truck drivers had been involved in an altercation prior to the incident, which has been tagged as a case of road rage.

The victim was identified as Benjamin Bagtas, 47. He was pinned between the ten-wheeler and his truck before he was dragged a few meters on Road 10 in Barangay 105, Tondo.

He was taken to the hospital but died.

The suspect was identified as Marlon Ilas, 34. He was arrested shortly after the incident as he was chased by barangay authorities.

Bagtas' truck helper said the two truck drivers had been jostling on the road before the driver parked on Road 10.

Ilas said he regretted what he did and was hoping that he would be forgiven.
