Two killed, one hurt as policeman ‘shoots’ them in Malabon
Two persons were killed while another was wounded after a Malabon policeman allegedly entered a house in Barangay Acacia and fired his gun on Wednesday before dawn.
According to a Jamie Santos' report on ‘Saksi,’ one of the fatalities was the 35-year-old who lived in the house who was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.
A male companion died on the spot after the shooting while a female was wounded and has since been brought to the hospital.
“Nanginginig iyong isa, tinutukan daw ng baril iyong apo. Nang lumabas sabi raw ng anak ko, 'Sir 'wag po! Pamangkin ko po 'yan! 'Wag n'yo nang idamay! Wala pong alam 'yan. Bata pa po 'yan!'” said the mother of one of the victims.
She said that the suspect even greeted her after the shooting, but the female victim was able to disclose his name and occupation before being rushed to the hospital.
“Sinabi niya sa mga pulis mga barangay tanod, ex-O, ang bumaril sa kanya pulis ng Catmon,” the mother said.
This was later confirmed after CCTV footage showed the gunman escaping the scene of the crime.
The police immediately assembled a team and arrested the suspect, who is currently in the custody of the Crime Investigation and Detection Group Northern Police District.
“Pinoproseso na natin ang pagfa-file ng kaso at sinusigurado po natin na yung mga biktima nito magtiwala sa ating sa investigation na ginagawa natin,” Malabon Police officer in charge Police Colonel Jay Benitez said.
The National Capital Region Police Office is also investigating illegal drugs as a possible motive behind the crime. —Jiselle Casucian/NB, GMA Integrated News
