Transgender woman ‘raped’ by taxi driver in Quezon City
A transgender woman was allegedly raped by a taxi driver, who took her to a motel in Quezon City.
According to Emil Sumangil's exclusive report on "24 Oras," the victim took a taxi on Tomas Morato Street after partying all night with her friends at a bar.
Drunk, she passed out after instructing the driver to take her to Caloocan City.
Instead of bringing her to her destination, the suspect allegedly took the victim to a motel on Mindanao Avenue. He reportedly checked in at around 5 a.m. and left after an hour.
The victim woke up at around 2 p.m. naked and her bag empty of money. She called up her friends and asked them to bring her home.
The incident which happened in the middle of 2022 had been reported to the Quezon City Police District but there was still no development in the case.
The victim the posted the incident on the Facebook page of "24 Oras."
GMA Integrated News assisted Chloe in filing a formal complaint before the National Bureau of Investigation Anti-Organized and Transnational Crimes Division (NBI-AOTCD).
“Maturuan din ng leksyon, saka malaman din ng tao na hindi lang babae ang mga nire-rape,” the victim said.
(I want to teach him a lesson and to tell the public that women are not the only rape victims.)
“Wala naman tao na gustong mapahiya yung sarili, ‘yung-mag out na na-rape, para lang sa clout,” she added.
(No one wants to tell they were raped for clout.) —NB, GMA Integrated News
