3 persons shot dead in separate incidents in Pasay, QC

Two women died in Pasay City in separate shooting incidents despite the gun ban in preparation for the 2023 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections in October.

In Quezon City, a security guard was shot dead by  a riding in tandem.

According to Marisol Abdurahman’s report on “State of the Nation”, a woman died in Barangay 8 after succumbing to gunshot wounds.

A video of the incident showed victim Erica Dulaca talking with two other women along San Juan Street when a riding-in-tandem arrived. The passenger alighted and threatened the victim with a gun but the firearm malfunctioned.

The gunman then shot her in different parts of her body. Dulaca attempted to escape but the rider shot her several times before fleeing.

Dulaca was rushed to the hospital but she was declared dead on arrival.

According to the police, the suspects are allegedly one of the victim’s clients and may be connected to her livelihood.

“‘Pag nasa hotel na, pinapaligo yung customer nila tapos ninanakawan, tinatakasan. ‘Yan ang nakikita naming motibo dyan,” said Pasay City Police Chief Captain Dennis Desalisa.

(When they are in the hotel, the victim allegedly lets their customer take a bath first before robbing them. We believe that’s the motive.)

The police are conducting a manhunt operation.

Another shooting incident was reported in Pasay City. This time a 24-year-old woman was fatally shot in Barangay 190 early Monday while walking alone.

Authorities arrested the suspects in a follow-up operation after they were identified as John Paul Napoles, the victim’s live-in partner, and his cousin, Rommel Napoles.

In a follow-up police operation, Rommel - the alleged gunman - was caught in the act using illegal drugs.

“Pagbukas ng pinto  nakita namin na gumagamit ‘tong kinakasama, kasama ‘yung tinuturong gunman," said Pasay City Police Chief Captain Dennis Desalisa.

(When we opened the door, we saw the victim’s live-in partner and the alleged gunman.)

Desalisa said they believe the suspects’ motive is linked with the activities of the suspect.

“Alam mga lakad nitong kinakasama niya na involved sa drugs...sa pagpatay,” he added.

(The victim purportedly knows that her partner is involved in illegal drugs and murders.)

The suspects will be charged with murder and violation of Republic Act No. 91655 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

John Paul denied the allegations against him.

“Ba't ko gagawin yun? Asawa ko ‘yun. ‘Yung normal na away mag-asawa lang, usually, tampuhan lang,” he said.

(Why would I do that? She’s my wife. We fight but it’s just the normal ones.)

Rommel answered: “Wala po akong idea. Gumagamit lang po”. (I have no idea why they were accusing me of shooting her. I am using drugs.)
