QC launches city-wide sports program to develop more athletes

As part of its bid to develop more athletes, the Quezon City government has launched a city-wide grassroots sports program.

The city government kicked off the QC Sports City-wide Grassroots Program through an inter-barangay basketball league program. It was joined by 116 barangays in QC.

“Kahit sa anong larangan ng sports na gusto ng ating kabataan, our vision and goal is to be their partner in this journey and to mold them into becoming outstanding athletes of the city and the nation,” said Vice Mayor Gian Sotto.

“Let us keep focused on our goal to serve God by serving one another, lifting each other up, especially the future champions of our nation,” he added.

Sotto tossed the ball to signal the opening of the league at the Amoranto Sports Complex last July 22.  The program is ongoing.
