Baby dies after mother loses hold in Caloocan City fire


A 10-month-old baby boy was killed after a fire hit a residential area in Barangay 176, Caloocan City.

According to Bam Alegre's report on "Saksi," the blaze started at past 6 p.m. on Tuesday.

The baby's grandfather said the mother was trying to escape the fire when she jumped from the building.

The mother reportedly lost her hold on the baby when she got caught in a clothesline.

Both mother and child were brought to the hospital.

The baby was pronounced dead on arrival.

Six families or 18 individuals were affected by the blaze.

The Bureau of Fire Protection is investigating the cause of the fire which got under control in less than an hour.  —NB, GMA Integrated News
